I have always been in awe of the beauty that Mother Nature has
bestowed upon us. Whether it is a beautiful waterfall, shinning
mountains, flowers or unique buildings; all can excite me to capture
their image. I am inspired by
sun rays shining through a cloudy sky and the red glare of
the sun setting on
snowy mountain peaks.
I
am impressed with the challenge of composing the scene as well the art of
editing the raw picture. I do all my own
work from taking the picture, editing it in Photoshop, printing on an archival
printer and mounting or framing the finished product. I can print from the customer’s choice of
high gloss photo paper, canvas or watercolor paper. Each will give a completely different feel to
the image.
I
have learned that it takes an average of 100 to 200 shots to get that one very
special picture. The one that freezes that particular moment and preserves it
for all eternity. It’s a matter of being in the right place at the right time.
Sometimes you just get lucky. More often, it pays to simply persevere and
always be aware of the natural wonders that surround us.
